Our Business

Mano Palm Oil Industries (MPOI) operates a fully integrated palm oil business in Liberia — from cultivating and harvesting fresh fruit bunches (FFB), to processing crude palm oil (CPO) and crude palm kernel oil (CPKO), and soon refining these oils locally for domestic and international markets.
Plantation
MPOI manages over 13,000 hectares of oil palm plantations across Bomi, Grand Cape Mount, Lofa, and Zodua Estate. These estates form the foundation of our business, producing high-quality FFB that fuels our mill and future refinery operations. We are committed to best-in-class agronomic practices and are investing in yield improvement and sustainability at the field level.
Mill
Our palm oil mill, located in Grand Cape Mount, is one of the most modern processing facilities in the region. With a capacity of 45 metric tons of FFB per hour, the mill produces both crude palm oil (CPO) and crude palm kernel oil (CPKO) with rigorous quality and traceability controls in place.
Upcoming Refinery
MPOI is currently constructing Liberia’s first palm oil refinery, expected to be operational by 2026. This landmark project will allow us to locally refine palm oil products, reduce reliance on imports, increase value addition within the country, and create new job opportunities. The refinery is a key step in our mission to strengthen Liberia’s agro-industrial capacity and food security.
Product Portfolio
We produce:
• Crude Palm Oil (CPO) – A versatile ingredient used in cooking oils, margarine, and processed foods, as well as in soaps and biodiesel. Our CPO is extracted from the fleshy mesocarp of the oil palm fruit and meets quality standards for both local and export markets.
• Crude Palm Kernel Oil (CPKO) – Extracted from the kernel of the palm fruit, CPKO is widely used in the production of personal care products such as shampoos, lotions, and cosmetics, as well as in industrial applications including detergents and lubricants.
• Palm Kernel Expeller (PKE) – A nutrient-rich byproduct of palm kernel oil extraction, PKE is commonly used as a high-fiber feed ingredient for livestock and dairy cattle.
• Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME) – A liquid byproduct of palm oil processing, POME can be treated and converted into biogas for renewable energy or used in composting to improve soil fertility in plantation replanting programs.
As we move toward refinery operations, our product range will expand to include refined, bleached, and deodorized (RBD) palm oil, as well as its key fractions: olein and stearin. These refined products will be tailored to meet the specific needs of both regional and international markets — from edible oils for household consumption to raw materials used in food manufacturing, cosmetics, and industrial applications. This next phase of value addition will enhance our competitiveness, reduce Liberia’s reliance on imported refined products, and create new opportunities for local economic growth.
